Who is Amy?

The long and short of who I am:

I’m just Amy, a small-town Pennsylvania girl. In all honesty, I’m just like you in a lot of respects. My life may look a little different but I am a wife, a mom, and a grammy.  I am also a daughter, a sister, and a friend to my small, inner circle. I’m working on a building and doing my best to live for Jesus.

I just happen to also be a singer/songwriter, author, speaker, and something of an artist. I do a little bit of graphic design and administrative tasks as well. I desire to walk and excel in all the places and purposes God has created me for. I feel I wasted a lot of time. I spent years in deep depression and then God had to reshape and rework me. I created a lot of damage to this vessel but God restored me. Now I am sprinting for Jesus and giving him my all.

I guess if there was one thing I wanted to be remembered for…it would be for what I built on the foundation of others. We can build and encourage or we can destroy and tear people down. I want to create strength, teach others how to endure, and hold on. Teach others how to speak faith and believe it with their whole heart. That is my heart.

My Inspiration:

Everything I write comes out of my personal experiences. It comes from my trials, my testimonies, the things I have witnessed and seen firsthand. The Bible declares “The husbandman that laboureth must be first partaker of the fruits.” (2 Timothy 2:6) This basically means you can’t empathize if you have never tasted the issue.

When I read scripture I read about the people in the bible and their lives and I see how it lines up with our lives today. God allows me to see things from a different slant, a different perspective, he allows me to see things from a different angle or viewpoint. I see how the circumstances in the bible, the words being spoken by Jesus, the disciples, and others relate to my experiences and the world around me. I love writing in such an applicable manner that it makes the word come alive in practical terms that anyone can understand and apply.

I get excited when God shows me something new that I can share! It clicks in me and I get an Aha moment. That’s the only way I can explain it.

Life On The Road:

In 2012, Randy & I started this incredible journey for Jesus. When you are stepping by faith, you have no idea where God is going to take you, the wonderful people you are going to meet, or the experiences you will have, you only know God said to go. So what do you do? This is where everyone says, “You go!”  But the truth is there are a lot of people who have heard God say go and are still sitting. It is very hard to leave everything behind but it is totally worth it.

For Randy and I, it meant turning our flock over to someone else and closing our church doors. It meant letting the lease go on our home. It meant Randy giving away his business. It meant leaving our parents and children behind along with all of our friends. For us, it meant letting go of everything we think of as security and safety to follow where God was wanting to lead us.

We had been given a 13-passenger shuttle bus. You know, that short bus that picks you up at the airport parking lot and shuttles you to the airport, yeah that is what we had. When we first got it, it rained more on the inside than the outside. Little by little though Randy worked on that little bus. He installed a bed platform, put a rod up over the end of the bed for clothes, built little cubby holes to store things, found a small rocking chair for me to ride in, installed a marine toilet, wired it for electricity and we were ready to roll!

There isn’t room here to tell you all the stories of traveling for 6 months in that little bus but I can tell you this…God saw to it that we had a hot shower every day and it was never at a truck stop. We always had a hot meal, a good night’s sleep, and a safe place to park.  We had a few nights where we slept fully dressed, coats and all, huddled close together to stay warm and we survived.

We proved we were determined to go. We didn’t give up, didn’t throw it all in, and trusted God every day for every step. God promised us over and over again that we wouldn’t have lack or want on our journey and he has been faithful to his word.

God has upgraded us twice in our 9 years on the road. We currently live and travel in a 40′ Newmar Dutch Star RV. When people inquire where we live Randy tells them, “If I’m parked in your yard for the night, I’m home!”

Randy and I have traveled for 9 years as Appointed2, well actually 8 1/2 years. The first 6 months we were simply known as Randy William and Amy. That would make a good trivia question! What is Appointed2 you ask? We are a Christian Country evangelistic duo.

Randy is a red, hot firecracker of a preacher. He’s the epitome of an evangelist. His whole goal is to help the church, help the pastor, and help the people. He is looking to see souls set free, people healed and delivered. He wants to see people in a different position when we leave from where we found them. He is also a musician and a singer/songwriter. He owns Faith Studio in Kings Mountain, NC and he loves to record, mix and master music.

Appointed2 has won numerous awards for our music and ministry, every song we have released since 2017 to Christian radio has hit in the top 20. We’ve even had top 5’s. Should have had a number one but somebody forgot to submit their station’s chart. Things happen and we fell at #2 instead but we will always know it was a #1. We have met some awesome people like The Freemans, Karen Peck and New River, The Hinson Family, The Perry’s, Gerald, Adam, and Jason Crabb to name a few. We have had the privilege of sharing the stage with them and even singing with them and Randy played with the Crabb guys and played Jason’s guitar. That was a thrill, to say the least. While every moment we’ve experienced was exciting there is a reward we are looking for. It outweighs everything else!

We primarily travel in the South East but God has taken us to North Dakota where we saw the buffalo and then we ate them. They were pretty tasty. We have been to Pennsylvania once and hope to be going back this year. We have been to Louisiana and Mississippi too. Mostly though, you will find us in Florida, Alabama, Georgia, Tennessee, Ohio, West Virginia, North and South Carolina but we are willing to go where God opens a door.
