It’s amazing how God maneuvers us to see what he wants us to see, how he wants us to see it, and immediately understand what he wants us to do.
Here I am perusing scripture, asking Jesus what to write about this week, and feeling empty about it all.
So, I get up and make a cup of hot cocoa with milk, not water.
I sit back down, reach for my steaming cup of creamy cocoa, and thank Jesus for the simple, little pleasures of life.
The simple, little pleasures…there it was.
When is the last time you did something just for yourself?
When is the last time you enjoyed a simple, little pleasure?
I’m sitting on the couch with my feet up, sipping my cocoa. I am relaxed, content, and happy.
We tend to get so busy and caught up in the things of life that we fall into bed exhausted. Just so we can get up and do it all over again tomorrow.
We tend to our husband, our children, the house, the church, and a million other errands and forget about ourselves.
What’s up with that? How do we forget the one person we are with 24/7?
Let me encourage you to take a little time for yourself this week…and don’t feel guilty about it either!
We need to pamper ourselves on occasion. We need to take care of ourselves, so we have the strength and ability to continue caring for others.
You deserve a big cup of coffee and a danish or a bubble bath, or a little time to sit and watch your favorite movie when it’s quiet.
However, you choose to spend your moment…enjoy it!
